Create a VISION BOARD
What is a vision board?
For some of you who may not know, a vision board is a collage of images and words representing your personal goals. Whatever you put on your board is there to inspire you and motivate you to take everyday actions to reach your goals.
Does it work?
A vision board only works if you take the actions to achieve your goals. You can manifest and visualize yourself achieving your goals every day, but they can’t happen until you make them happen.
I have been making vision boards for years. Since I started this blog, I wanted to share how easy it is to do one yourself.
Before getting the supplies, there are some things I do first.
Set my goals and prioritize what are more most essential goals.
When writing down my goals, I start with the short-term goals that I want to achieve within the year, and then I set the long-term goals that I want to accomplish in the next five years.
Create an aesthetic and structure for my board.
My aesthetic this year was tan and neutral colors. I structured my vision board by adding sections. I had 2021 in the middle, explore for traveling, love for family, home sweet home for buying a house, and me for my inner self.
Find images and words of affirmation.
I found my section words on google, but most of my vision board consists of Pinterest pictures. If you like any photo on my board, you can go to my Pinterest and use any from my vision board pins.
You can also get images from magazines, which is something I did in the past.
I always suggest adding pictures of yourself as well if you have some.
Get your board
You can use anything for your vision board, from a paper poster board to a corkboard. I use a white frame corkboard because it fits perfectly on my desk to see every day.
I get my corkboard and pins to hold the images from Target, These are all reasonable prices, and you can re-use both the board and metal tack pins every year.
If using a paper poster board, you can use glue to hold your images in places. I used to use stick glue to help keep the pictures flat.
YES, you can do a vision board as a phone screen saver. You follow the same steps above, but arrange the images in an app like Canva. You can then save it to your photo and add it to your home screen.
Print and cut out selected images.
I assort the pictures I use on a word document and then print those with my Canon printer. If you don’t have a printer, I recommend using a magazine to save money.
Once I have my images printed out, I cut them out and plan to arrange my board.
P.S. If you have the resources, please recycle your scraps from printing and magazines.
Arrange and sort images on your board.
Place your pictures where you want them to be, then start pinning them in the corners or gluing them down.
Hang up your vision board.
You’re all done after this step!
Once you finish your vision board, make sure to tag me for me to see your beautiful board.
