Valentine’s Day Ideas For Whether You Are In a Relationship Or Not!
Valentine's Day is the time of year where many people are excited about it or not a huge fan of the day. Today I want to make you look at Valentine's Day differently.
You don't have to be in a relationship to celebrate Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day is all about sharing love, and remember that loving yourself is just the same. So celebrate yourself and treat yourself well on V-Day. I was my own Valentine for 20 years, and it was amazing. I will be providing six ways to celebrate Valentine's Day, whether you in a relationship or not.
1. Breakfast in Bed
Breakfast in bed is a nice gesture to bring a special someone. Cooking up someone's favorite breakfast will only put a smile on their face and bring happiness to their tummy.
Don't forget that making yourself breakfast in bed is relaxing and comforting. Enjoy your lovely breakfast with some natural light coming through the window.
2. Do an Activity Outside
For those dealing with winter months, go ice skating and enjoy the fresh air. If it is warmer where you are, you can go for a nice bike ride. Since Valentine's Day is on Sunday this year, you can head down to your farmers market and grab some fresh veggies to make for dinner or go for a walk. These activities call for quality time, whether talking with someone or taking the time yourself to unplug and relax in nature.
3. Homemade love Coupons
Take some note cards and write out coupons that your special someone can use at any time. I recommend writing things they like. For example, a 10-minute massage, or they get to pick the movie tonight.
Self-love coupons are my favorite because you know yourself better than anyone else. An example you can put on your coupon is, go to the mirror and say five things you love about yourself. Another would be to treat yourself to your favorite take-out because you deserve it. You can even add affirmations like, I am grateful for who I am. Have fun with it!
4. Take-Out and A Movie
Ordering food from your favorite restaurant and watching a movie creates a comfortable space while still helping out businesses. If you plan to do this with your partner, find a movie you both want to watch.
Find your favorite movie or one you have been saving to watch and order in your favorite restaurant. Personally, this is something I did a lot for myself on Valentine's Day. As a food lover, I was pleased to eat my favorite foods, and watching some of my old favorite movies brought back great nostalgia.
5. DIY Dinner / Beer / Wine Tasting
Cooking a nice meal together is a great way to bond and have fun. You can cook a favorite meal or try something new. If you aren't into drinking alcohol, you can skip this part. The beer or wine you buy doesn't have to be super expensive. Pick three or four options and pour them into cups, and label them. You can rate your favorite and learn more about the wine or beer you are tasting.
Treat yourself to a fancy experience and practice your cooking skills, light yourself a candle and turn on some music that brings up your vibe. For the wine and or beer tasting, you can learn more about yourself. Do you like sweet wines or red wines? Do you like a Porter or a Stout?
**Please do not drink unless you are of age in your country. Thank you!**
6. Write a Love Letter and Read it Aloud
Writing a letter about how much you love that special someone can boost their mood. Doing it together is an experience that can be so touching. After writing your letter, read it out loud to share your love and appreciation for each other.
Writing a love letter to yourself is something the world needs to promote more. Set the mood, light a candle and write what you love about yourself. Once you have finished writing your letter, read it out loud. Reading your letter out loud will not only improve your mood but surprise you with how amazing you are.
Writing myself a love letter is something I am adding to my Valentine's Day because I deserve it, and I know it will keep building the love and relationship with myself because I know I still have more room to grow!
I hope these ideas were helpful and that you all enjoy your Valentine's Day. Remember that you are loved, and most of all, you are amazing because you are the only YOU.
Sincerely,
Kenzie
